Double Whammy of Product Development?

How does this paradox of product development sound? Isn't this the norm in most organizations? A typical market analysis examines data for a product or service when the market opportunity to increase profit margins for the enterprise by introducing a product is at its lowest. When is it urgent for product development?


Please consider the following insights and how you can make a difference in your product development. The current Agile product development paradigm promised to increase development speed and reduce development costs. However, it helped a few enterprising organizations; it did not dent large product and solution development initiatives. Why? Where is the leverage for product development speed?


We have a double whammy: We fail to recognize untapped needs or discover what matters to customers and end users, and the methodology used in product development itself is dysfunctional in most situations. Is there a better management system that could address this? This challenge has been continuing despite an increase in knowledge levels in all domains of human endeavor. This is a big reason we must keep asking to discover alternative emergent "solutions."
